Glass Artist (1960)
M, S of artist John Hutton in his studio in London; some large panels of engraved glass are standing around. John walks over to a workbench, picks up a glass vase and an electric grinding machine and starts to work on it. C, U as he turns the vase round so we can see the engraving; it shows a figure, looks like an angel blowing a horn. M, S showing John working on the vase as it is lit by an overhead lamp with a magnifying glass attached as commentator tells us this New Zealand artist engraves vases with differing designs to be sold at Coventry Cathedral; some of the proceeds going to the Cathedral s Appeal Fund. C, U of the engraving through the magnifying glass as John smoothes it over with his thumb. M, S as John examines the finished vase as we are informed he is currently working on ninety engraved glass panels for the Cathedral.
