1893 World s Fair Construction Photographs ( Columbian Exposition, Hyde Park, Chicago)
Welcome back. Today we will dive deep into some newly rediscovered photographs of the construction of the 1893 Worlds Columbian Exposition, which was held in Hyde Park in the city of Chicago. These photographs have only recently been revealed for public viewing, and I found these images to be an exquisite addition to our discussion of American Architecture before the year 1900. I have a handful of other videos detailing the end result of this construction; the beautiful, yet temporary structures of The Worlds Columbian Exposition of 1893. However, I have never before had the opportunity to see the wonderful construction photographs showcased in todays video. Where are the workers Where are the machines How was it all built in a matter of months Is it, truly, all temporary Id love to hear your thoughts and ideas in the comment section. This is a glimpse into one of the greatest aspects of Chicagos history. Enjoy Topics discussed today:
