Amanda Lear: Secret Passion Expanded Version, Vol. 1 (1987)
Amanda Lear s recording career had been lying low since her last fulllength album Tam Tam, released in December 1983. While she recorded a few singles on smaller Italian labels over the next years, she was busier as a TV presenter and actress. By 1986, however, she signed a deal with Carrere Records in France for a comeback album with Italian producer Christian de Walden. The album was recorded in Los Angeles and Rome and hit the shops in January 1987. The first single Les Femmes (The Women) b, w the English version She Wolf had been released a couple of months earlier, the second single being a cover of Chip Taylor s Wild Thing whereas the UK opted for Time s Up as the first single. Amanda undertook extensive promotion for the album for nine months, although a car accident in March set her back for a few weeks. Despite the publicity and the release of a new version of Follow Me, the album did not sell well. While the synth sound may not have dated particularly well, the songs are quite entertain
