Sailing a small junk rigged boat in Northland, New Zealand

An updated version of this video can be found here: Fantail is a Raven 26 with a fanned, cambered junk rig. The video shown here is a quickanddirty compilation from 2 months of cruising. The rig is easily managed with only three running lines (halyard, sheet and parrel), all of which can all be operated without winches. It can be reefed or furled in seconds, is tough, dependable, weatherly and fast on all points of sailing. Fantail is kept as a simple cruiser, w
