Bogota: rioting, looting and murder take place after assassination of Liberal leader Senor Gaitan. Angry crowds in the streets. Car and building set alight and documents thrown from windows. Philadelphia: members of the American Republican Party meet to elect their Presidential candidate. Shots of party members, supporters, banners and badges (Dewey, Taft, Stasser). Candidates make speeches. Washington: Senator Vandenberg makes a speech defending the Marshall Plan. Shots of men shovelling grain and bags of grain being carried to a pile. Italy: election fever. Pavement art, political cartoons and posters. Crowds listen to speeches by Signor Sagarat, Signor De Gasperi and Signor Togliatti. Italians go to the polls. C, U of grain being lifted out of a vat. Britain: butchers shop. C, U of tins of Veal Loaf with price tag. Butcher serves housewife. Harvesting crops. Cattle. Sheep.
