Candidates make speeches. Washington: Senator Vandenberg makes a speech defending the Marshall Plan. Shots of men shovelling grain and bags of grain being carried to a pile. Italy: election fever. Pavement art, political cartoons and posters. Crowds listen to speeches by Signor Sagarat, Signor De Gasperi and Signor Togliatti. Italians go to the polls. C, U of grain being lifted out of a vat.
