Archispirostreptus gigas ( Giant African Millipede) Close up
Cute millipedes doing cute things. I find this strangely relaxing. A. gigas is the probably largest extant millipede growing more than 35 cm (13. 7 in) long. The ones showns here aren t nearly that size yet, at the time of recording they are about 10 12 cm (4 4. 7 in) long. Adults of this species have slightly more than 500 legs, juveniles have less due to their anamorphic development, they gain additional segments and legs every molt.
