Fire Festival in Kurama Autumn in Kyoto, Japan
It was 3pm, 3hours before the festival started, but the Eizan line was already full of Kurama Fire Festival enthusiasts. We were told the festival attracts 1000s of people but we weren t aware it was going to be this popular. The thought of a fire festival was a bit nerve wrecking but the fire festival was held in a very controlled environment with policemen ushering crowds and making sure the fire was under control.
