Ex soldier faces jail for trying to help Afghan refugee girl enter UK
A former British soldier Rob Lawrie faces up to five years in a French prison after he tried to help a young Afghan girl get in to the UK. He met fouryearold Bahar Ahmadi when he came to donate supplies to the socalled Jungle refugee camp in the French port of Calais. The father of the girl pleaded with him to take his daughter to Britain to relatives they have there. At first Mr. Lawrie refused, but the conditions in the camp made up his mind.
