How to Dye Greek Red Easter Eggs
GREEK RED EASTER EGGS Buy Greek Red Egg Dye Dyeing Easter eggs red is probably one of the most wellknown of all Greek Easter traditions. They are traditionally dyed on Holy Thursday and then cracked on Easter. I have a special trick to making sure they achieve the deep burnished red color that you see here, they come out perfectly every time. Makes 12 Eggs Timing: 10 minutes prep, 20 minutes cooking, soaking Ingredients 12 brown eggs 4 cups water 1 cup white vinegar 1 package red egg dye Drizzle of oil Instructions In a large pot, add the water and bring to a rolling boil. Once boiling, add the eggs and lower the heat to simmer, cover the pot and let cook for 15 minutes. Once finished, add the eggs to an ice bath and let cool for at least 5 minutes.
