How to pleat and wrap a Great Kilt
This video is to pleat and wrap a 5 yard kilt. The material is 60 wide. Some ppl say I need a full 9 yards, but I have never seen a video of a 9 yard tartan. Like I say in the video 5 yards is bulky enough, I was tempted to cut it down to 3 yards. I guess they use deeper pleats for more than 5 yards. Use what ever size you and if you do find a 9 yard hand pleated kilt video let me know. I will show you how to pleat to the stripe and pleat to the column. There is no evidence of the belted plaid exisiting before the late 16th Century. Do wear underdungers with your kilt, especially if it is wool, otherwise you will itch. I made this video during Spring Break and appologize for the disctractions at the end. If you are watching from a moble divice, the annotations might not appear. I suggest you watch it from a full computer or labtop. Jump to 3:55 for Military style pleats, to 8:30 on how to lie down and put it on.
