In September 1944, at the age of 22, he fought in Operation Market Garden as a rifleman in Easy Company of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division. Webster put his wartime experiences to paper in Parachute Infantry, a detailed and wellwritten memoir that lay much of the groundwork for the book and television series Band of Brothers that propelled Easy Company into worldwide fame.
