Simulation of Bridge Column Under Seismic Loads
Validation analysis using the finite element method and data from a previous, largescale experimental test on a bridge column. The column was subjected to a sequence of ground motions up to the occurrence of severe damage due to rebar fracture. The analysis has been conducted with the commercial software LSDYNA, developed by LSTC. Novel material models have been developed and integrated in LSDYNA to accurately capture the damage in concrete and the rupture of the reinforcing steel.
