Kate Winslet ( Mare of Easttown) wins the AACTA International Award for Best Actress in a Series
Kate Winslet wins the AACTA International Award for Best Lead Actress in a Series for her portrayal of Mare Sheehan in Mare of Easttown. Kate has previously won an AACTA Award for Best Lead Actress in a Film for the Australian film The Dressmaker in 2015. In the HBO limited series Mare of Easttown, Kate Winslet plays Mare Sheehan, a smalltown detective trying to find a balance between work and home supporting a family in distress whilst solving the murder of a young girl. Having recently won both an Emmy and a Golden Globe for the role, this performance is agreed to be a standout for Winslets career and an important portrayal of complex older women for our screens.
