Michael Snow: Cover to Cover (1975)
This video was made for the show 50 Years of the Photographic Artists Book, 19682018 in the University of Arizona Gross Gallery during the 2019 CBAA National Conference in Tucson, AZ. Philip Zimmermann curated the show. This book, by Canadian conceptual artist Michael Snow, is considered one of the most iconic and influential works in the history of the artists book. One passes through the codex book as one would in the real world. It is simultaneously photographed from the front and the back as the protagonist, Snow himself, travels through time and space. It was published by the Nova Scotia School of Art Design and NYU Press. See:
