Mrs. Brockhaus, active in the League of Women Voters, Planned Parenthood, and Citizens for Quality Integrated Education, died April 12 of injuries suffered in an auto accident on the Yucatan Peninsula. She was 69. Born in Grand Rapids, Mich. , she earned a bachelor s degree at the University of Michigan. She and her husband of 39 years, J. Henry Brockhaus, who died in 1989, moved to Seattle in 1952. She enjoyed tennis and was a bridge life master. She found her niche when she took up singing in her 50s and appeared at jazz clubs.
