News Briefs (1942)
Titles read: News Briefs. Various locations of events. At an aerodrome, somewhere in the north of Britain, we see General De Gaulle inspecting some of the Frenchmen attached to the Free French Squadron of the RAF. Some of the men wear naval uniforms. He then watches them fly past in formation, in the shape of the Cross of Lorraine. In Pennsylvania, United States of America, we see an American bomber that was forced down on a ploughed field being hauled over to the main highway. The plane takes off with just inches to spare either side. The traffic that was held up during the takeoff starts to move on again. Also in the United States we see several shots of pretty girl archers dressed in dark tops and white shorts, standing in a long line and firing arrows at targets with caricatures of Hitler, Mussolini and Tojo in the centre. In London, we see Prime Minister Winston and Clementine Churchill in Downing Street meeting leaders of the Free Austrians in Britain (Free Austrian Movement). They
