First Bridegroom Pilot (1927)
Item title reads: First Bridegroom pilot. Well known aviator, Major Openshaw, after marriage to Miss A. J Bruce, flies his bride in his own machine for honeymoon at Yeovil, Somerset M, S bride and groom emerge from a church through a guard of honour an arch made by people holding wing formers. The crowd throw flowers or rice at them quite hard and they laugh. At the airfield, the bride and groom don flying helmets and goggles watched by smiling guests two girls tie a silver slipper to the underside of a wing. The couple board the plane, the bride still with bouquet, pose for the camera and the plane taxis away. It takes off, banks, and flies into distance. Note: another poular flying story for 1927.
