On September 12, 1985, Raymond C. Fife died of cardiac arrest and a brain bleed. Two days earlier, the 12yearold had left home on his bike to visit a friend s house, but he never arrived. After a few hours, Raymond s father found him naked and severely beaten, with burns on his face. The boy s genitals had human bite marks on them, and his underwear was tied around his neck and lit on fire. He had been impaled through the rectum with a stick, which penetrated into his bladder. Local teenagers Danny Hill and Timothy Combs had attacked the boy in the woods, stolen his bike, and left him for dead.
