Jacquet de Mantua: Dum vastos Adriae fluctus Kings Singers
Jacquet de Mantua (14831559): Dum vastos Adriae fluctus Jacquet de Mantua originally Jacques Colebault was so called because most of his time he spent in Mantova as a church musician. He must have composed this motet while in service in Mantova, as the text mentions the city s river, Mincio in Latinised form: Mintius (or Mincius). This piece was composed in hommage of Josquin des Prés. In the second part it quotes both musically and by title five famous motets of Josquin: Praeter rerum seriem, Stabat mater, Inviolata integra et casta es, Salve Regina and Miserere.
