J. S. Bach 3 Sonatas for Viola da Gamba Harpsichord BWV 1027 1029 Glenn Gould
Gould maintained a longstanding friendship with the cellist Leonard Rose ever since they and the violinist Oscar Shumsky were made musical directors of Canadas Stratford Festival in 1956. In this particular case, I was very amenable to trying to please Glenn stylistically. I did not feel that at that time I was as well acquainted with the music as was Glenn. I ve created this aggregate of the 3 sonatas for viola da gamba and harpsichord for my personal use and I m more than happy to share it with people that appreciate Glenn Gould s estatic interpretation of these ingenious pieces as much as I do. I ve gathered the 11 movements into one video just so I don t have to download all of them one by one on my phone for everyday listening. Pianist: Glenn Gould Cellist: Leonard Rose
