The Stawamus Chief is one of the largest granite monoliths in the world, located near the town of Squamish, British Columbia, Canada. It has three main peaks, separated by deep gullies, the highest peak rises 700 m (2, 300 ft) above the nearby Howe Sound. The Stawamus Chief is one of the most popular hiking trails around Vancouver a challenging steep trail up and down the three peaks, with incredible views over Howe Sound and to the north to Garibaldi Provincial Park.
