Duga radar. 2015
Duga ( arc or curve in russian) was a Soviet overthehorizon radar system used as part of the Soviet missile defense earlywarning radar network. Its powerful radio signal was detected worldwide and got a nickname the Russian Woodpecker. The system consists of transmitting and receiving antennas, separated by about 60 km. Only receiving station near Chernobyl built by 1976 preserved to this day. Receiving station consists of two phased array antennas 140 and 80 meters high. The military town of Cherno
