Paint this Loose Abstract Watercolour Mountain watercolor landscape tutorial with Cling Film Paint
After a couple of weeks focusing mostly on flower painting, it s been difficult to get back into landscapes, so today s demo is for a warm up exercise, an abstract monochrome mountain landscape just using 1 colour: Cotman paynes grey (I use Cotman paynes grey as it splits out from black to blue and grey when I paint with lots of water), painting in an abstract, experimental way to try to loosen up and get the feel for landscape painting again. I m trying to avoid painting particular features of a landscape, letting the loose brushwork and wet in wet effects suggest the lay of the land. A surprisingly good exercise to help with your loose painting, I also use cling film, plastic food wrap, glad wrap to create some extra texture.
