People first discovered that photographs could be sequenced and viewed as moving pictures back in the 1890s, and its this era that Wendy and Mark like to acknowledge in their flipbook work. It all started in 2009, when they traveled to Europe and the Middle East; they fell in love with the midtwentieth century mechanized signs that were still operating, especially the splitflap departure, arrival boards in train stations, with their mesmerizing clickclackclickclack.
