The business of property flourished two three decades ago but now there are in the field only big land grabbers who earn money with hook and crook. In all Punjab there are a few government approved colonies. All colonizers and property dealers have nexus with politicians and bureaucrats. These people get all revenue work with bribery and don t pay a single penny tax to the government. As a result there are a number of colonies built with the road width of not more than 20th feet. In Ludhiana there is already a problem of traffic chaos in the old and narrow streets. But that mistake is again repeated by land mafia and they are selling plots in the illegal, not approved colonies all around the Ludhiana city villages.
