E3 is DEAD The Silent Video Game Crash, No AA Games, and Hope for the Future
E3 is DEAD The Silent Video Game Crash, No AA Games, and Hope for the Future. From where I m sitting, I sincerely think we are living in the midst of a video game crash. Forget the supposedly apocalyptic crash of the 1980 s (where Nintendo saved all of gaming singlehanded), I think right now we are seeing a massive shift where games are either AAA big budget, or low budget indie with little inbetween. On top of that, even within the AAA sphere, the scope of what games are being produced has shrunk down to a tiny selection of the same genres over and over and with no new franchises being established. Everything is a sequel and a remake. While this was fun for a few years, it s getting pathetic now. That all being said, this vid is not just doom and gloom as I see within this space of microtransactions, dlc, season passes, and other garbage, a nice opening for real games and upcoming indie studios to step in and reclaim some sales.
