The French relative pronouns (les pronoms relatifs) qui que dont où lequel, are made to link two different clauses. Qui will replace the subject. Que will replace the subject. Dont will replace a clause starting with the preposition de, and où will replace a place or a place in time. Lequel Auquel Duquel are going to be used for indirect clauses.
