The most overlooked chord progression by Jazz Students and teachers
Of late I am beginning to think that I7 to IV7 is THE most overlooked chord movement by students and teachers of Jazz alike. The focus always seems to be on II V s, which is understand able as II Vs are heard in such abundance. I would contend that the I7 to IV7 progression is just as essential and fundamental to learn as the II7 V7. Indeed, I would go even further to suggest that it is deeper and more challenging, than the II V.
