Villagers threw cow feces at each other and smeared themselves with dung as they celebrated the daylong Gore Habba festival in Gumatapura. They believe the clothes and remains of a saint were dumped in a pit in their village, and took the shape of the Linga religious symbol, which was surrounded by cow excrement.
