Welcome to Xunaa Shuká Hít Huna Ancestors House
It is more than just a building Explore the new tribal house with several Huna Tlingit elders. Since its dedication on August 25, 2016, Xunaa Shuká Hít (Huna Ancestors House) has welcomed visitors from around the world. As importantly, the Tribal House has served as a place of learning, celebration, and healing for the Huna clans that call Glacier Bay Homeland. This year, the coronavirus pandemic prevented the Hoonah Indian Association and the National Park Service, partners in building and managing the Tribal House, from opening its doors. We continue to explore ways to connect both visitors and tribal members to this treasured building, and to the knowledge it holds. The Huna elders welcome you to virtually explore Xunaa Shuká Hít in this brief vignette. We all look forward to a time when the walls of the Tribal House reverberate with drum beats again.
