Quadratus Lumborum Find, Feel, Move Release with Somatic Yoga Myofascial Massage
Have you been doing my Deep Core Series This video continues to explore the muscles that stabilize the pelvis and trunk. Perhaps the quadratus lumborum (QL) has not received the fame it should for being the instigator of back pain. And it is also often incorrectly categorized as a back muscle since that is where it makes itself known when it causes pain, but it is more correct to identify the QL s as a pair of deep core stabilizers. This video will teach you to find you QL muscles, assess them for function and pain, do some somatic movement and finish with a self myofascial release. You will need a yoga block or stack of books to stand on and I recommend a few small balls with different densities for the myofascial massage.
