Assam: Women accuse company of sex trafficking in guise of skill building
Support independent journalism Join us: In a shocking incident that unravelled on Monday, at least 30 young women, hailing from the three Barak Valley districts, have levelled allegations of sex trafficking against a placement agency, Valeur Fabtex Pvt Ltd, that offered placements to the women after six months of skillbuilding certificate course at Silchar. The company purportedly enticed these girls with promises of nursing appointments in reputed hospitals in Delhi and Haryana. Valeur Fabtex Private Limited is a National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) NonFunded Training Partner, founded in 2012 and according to their website, they have conducted livelihood generation programmes in NorthEast India in 17 sectors. It provides skill training as a partner of the National Skill Development Cooperation.
