Director and Camera Operator Ridley Scott on THE DUELLISTS ( Do P: Frank Tidy)
Directors Ridley Scott and Kevin Reynolds talk about The Duellists (1977). Reynolds interviews Scott while watching the movie, and they examine some of the key visual shots that Scott created and that eventually got him recognized as one of the best visual directors of our time. Ridley Scott operated the camera himself, but nevertheless maintains that Tidys contributions were equally important. Indeed, he and Tidy had worked together on scores of commercials, so the cinematographer was well acquainted with Scotts cinematic preferences.
