As the four leadership candidates prepare for their final chance to address the partys conference, relations between some of the rivals have been strained despite the yellow card rule to stop personal attacks. Tom Tugendhat slammed Robert Jenrick for using footage of a soldier he served with him in Afghanistan and subsequently died, in a widely criticised campaign video. The shadow security secretary said Mr Jenricks claim that UK special forces are killing rather than capturing terrorists are just not true. As part of his final pitch, James Cleverly pledged to abolish stamp duty on homes purchases for firsttime buyers in order to help the economy thrive. The Tory leadership contender vowed to bring the policy advocated by former PM Liz Truss if he wins the contest. He told BBC Radio 4s Today programme that the stamp duty stagnates the market.
