Join our Discord server for language culture and politics: The 1381 Peasants revolt was a united force of peasants, artisans and village leaders in a response to continuing instability from the Black Death and the 100 year war in England. The revolutionaries sought a reduction of taxation and the end of serfdom. The revolt ended when King Richard organised troops and killed nearly all the rebels and leaders, including Wat Tyler. Roy Bailey was a grassroots folk singer who often sung about history, his voice encapsulated many, he died in 2018.
