Bach Cantata Nun komm, der Heiden Heiland BWV 62 Van Veldhoven, Netherlands Bach Society
Bach orchestrated the enthusiastic and expectant opening of cantata Nun komm, der Heiden Heiland, performed by the Netherlands Bach Society for All of Bach, quite modestly. For Lutherans, the festive start to the liturgical year on the first Sunday of Advent had a hopeful character. After all, it was almost Christmas time. But this Sunday also heralded a period of austerity and reflection, which lasted until Christmas Day. Recorded for the project All of Bach on November 30th 2013 at the Walloon Church, Amsterdam.
