This really is the Beatles in their prime. And yes, it s a simple song But it has some surprisingly complex instrumentation. We have 4 percussion parts drums, tambourine, claves, and I believe the only appearance of a guiro on a Beatles track John is doing some really interesting sweeping on the Strat, which almost mimics the guiro motion (I can imagine John making fun of Ringo s guiro playing in the studio and liking the sound so much, it became part of the record). It s a really interesting ambience, for sure. Some excellent drumming from Ringo here, especially the breaks. I actually had to redo the drums I originally thought Ringo was hitting the snare during the verses, but I stumbled
