Holland: Keukenhof ( Kitchen Garden), Part 1 of 3
Lying in a wooded park of 32 ha (79 acres) close to Lisse, the Keukenhof is one of the most spectacular public gardens in the world. It was set up in 1949 as a showcase for bulbgrowers and currently has around 6 million bulbs planted. Fields are full of dazzling narcissi, hyacinths and tulips in bloom from the end of March to the end of May. You can also see the white blossom of the Japanese cherry tree in the park early in the season and, later in the year, the bright flowers of the azaleas
