She was on a payment plan, but short 900. What did her county government do They took her entire 308, 000 house. Hall tried to pay off the debt but says, They didnt want our money They wanted our I covered her story two years ago. Her lawyer, Christina Martin of the Pacific Legal Foundation, told me this is unconstitutional. The government cant take more than its owed, she explains. Now, shes won in the US Supreme Court. The justices voted 90 that such takings are unconstitutional. Yet, in a handful of states, greedy government officials still steal peoples homes.
