During the Second World War, there were a huge number of civilians who were executed for being involved in resistance activities. The German Army would not tolerate any locals being involved in actions that defied their order. Young women such as Lepa Radic were condemned for their actions and for firing at German soldiers. But one woman in France who was a model inside of some very famous Paris fashion houses before the war was Charlotte Leitner. Charlotte had created a successful modelling career for her, but as the Second World War came to France she joined the French Resistance. Along with her husband they passed German secrets and information across to the Allies. The Germans saw this as serious, and Charlotte and her husband continued to pass intelligence for years. But Charlotte was arrested by the Gestapo, and she was then held in a French Prison, but as the war turned against the Germans, Charlotte would be executed.
