Greensleeves Jenli Sisters au Château de Rixensart
Greensleeves is a traditional English song written in honor of a lady with green sleeves. According to popular legend, it was composed by King Henry VIII (14911547) in honor of Anne Boleyn (1501 or 15071536). Originally a folk love song, Greensleeves became associated with Christmas through its adaptation into the carol What Child Is This which pairs its timeless melody with holidaythemed lyrics.
