IZANAMI (イザナミ, Izanami no mikoto) means She who invites, is the goddess of both creation and death, former wife of Izanagi. Izanami died when giving birth to her last child, Kagutsuchi (god of destructive fire). Izanagi chased far to Yomi (the land of the death) to get his wife back, just to find out Izanami has eaten food of the death and cannot come back. Angered of being ignored and not saved by the husband, Izanami sweared to kill one thousand of people everyday. Izanagi said he would create one thousand and five hundred people a day. That s the end of their relationship, and Izanami becomes goddess of the death. Izanami and Izanagi are also among the most powerful genjutsu performed by the Uchiha family in Naruto.
