World Cup SHORT TURNS
Hi This weeks video features pro world cup skier Matej Vidovic back in 2019 on the glacier of SaasFee in Switzerland. Short turns plays a major role in WC skiing but are really useful when free skiing outside of a racing track. It is actually the mark of truly great skiing once mastered. The old school application was and still is called Wedeln in German. One good way of training short turns is on a brush course. Set the course in a straight line and shorten the distance between the brushes as you advance in skill level. You can also set the course with bigger offsets and also spice it up with rhythm changes and combinations. Short turns also lie as the fundamental technique when it comes to bump skiing and WC ski racers ski bumps actually very well. That lightning fast foot work and hard to match physical strength and endurance comes in handy. Have fun watching and hopefully it will inspire you to practice short turns once the season starts here in the northern hemisp
