Arthur Big Boy Crudup 1905 d. March 28. 1974) Born Forest Mississippi was a migrant worker. Went to Chicago 1939 worked as a street musician. Got a recording contract with RCA Victor s Bluebird label. He recorded through 1940s and part of the 1950s. Sometimes called the father of rock roll. Like so many others he never got paid royalties due him. He returned to agricultural labor bootlegging. He died of heart disease in Virginia 1974.
