Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo Hudson Valley Dance Festival 2016
At the Hudson Valley Dance Festival, the allmale dance troupe Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo performed a playfully parodied rendition of the pas de deux from Le Corsaire, one of classical ballets most famous excerpts. The audience smiled in delight and frequently applauded as the refined ballerinos presented the traditional form in an imaginative, unexpected way. Dance lovers and performers alike gathered on the shores of the Hudson River on October 8, 2016, to celebrate the fourth annual Hudson Valley Dance Festival in Catskill, NY. The two performances at Historic Catskill Point raised a recordbreaking 136, 767 for Dancers Responding to AIDS, a program of Broadway Cares, Equity Fights AIDS. Dancers Responding to AIDS, founded in 1991 by former Paul Taylor Dance Company members Denise Roberts Hurlin and Hernando Cortez, is a program of Broadway Cares, Equity Fights AIDS, one of the nation s leading industrybased, nonprofit AIDS fundraising and grantmaking organizations.
