Iceland Volcanic Eruption Could Be Imminent Experts Warn. Newly released footage shows the scale of destruction of roads and buildings in Iceland, caused by a volcano rumbling under the Reykjanes peninsula. Evacuated residents of Grindavik a nearby town remained on edge to see whether it would erupt over the weekend.
