Beggars, Big Issue sellers and Turkish barbershops; the changing nature of the British high street

The complexion of our high streets has changed radically over the last decade or two. In addition to the closure of banks, we have seen the opening of many barbershops and nail bars; so many that it is something of a mystery how they all manage to make a profit. The explanation for this state of affairs is an interesting one.
