KARNAGE FREAK early alpha gameplay
early development of an AFPS game The game engine is written from scratch in C++ and uses minimal external libraries (D3D11 is used to interface with the GPU). This project began in late 2020 and has seen one complete code rewrite and will probably see another lol. The main reason this project exists is because I want to suffer and write my own engine. Gameplay motivations are based on the fact that esports and competitive games are FUCKING BORING and have no soul, and instead the entire game will be balanced around a single player campaign with multiplayer balance being a consequence of whatever decisions come from that. This mindset is in line with quake 1 and classic doom, where deathmatch came as an afterthought, and ended up being significantly more fun than their successors (in my opinion of course). Fun is more important than proper balance.
