Indian hospital slammed by COVID 19 crisis as some patients treated in ambulances
A hospital in the western Indian city of Ahmedabad dealt with a barrage of COVID19 patients on Wednesday as relatives of the sick desperately tried to source beds. Hospital staff provided care inside ambulances with the patients waiting in the parking lot for beds to become available, while nearly 4, 000 people died across India over the last 24 hours. Many people have died in ambulances and car parks waiting for a bed or oxygen, while morgues and crematoriums struggle to deal with a seemingly unstoppable flow of bodies. Also on Wednesday, trains carrying oxygen headed to New Delhi as hospitals struggled to meet the demand for oxygen from COVID19 patients.
