Living Chess (1933)
Chess the great name of the thinker and a novel way they played it in Kent High angle shot of a chess board. Pieces are moved a game in progress. Dissolve into a large outdoor chess board with real children representing the chess pieces. The children take it in turns to move across the board. When one piece takes another the children tap each other on the shoulder and point to the edge of the board. The losing piece walks off very cute. Low angle of man scratching his head as if wondering what move to make next. Game continues. M, S of man sitting on a chair on top of a table beside the chess board. He is presumably directing play. Low angle the other player. Check The player seen first stands on the table scratching his head. The white rook walks across the board, points at the king who puts his hands up in a surrender gesture. The second player looks excited and throws his hand in the air. And mate He sits back in his chair and we see the move from a high angle
